Thumbs down Wooden Spoon RG Player?

I think it's Delia Sescioreanu-

First Round Qualifying: Nooni d. Sescioreanu 63 63
Second Round Qualifying: Tamaela d. Nooni 76(4) 36 61
Third Round Qualifying: Prusova d. Tamaela 60 60
First Round: Zuluaga d. Prusova 61 60
Second Round: Williams d. Zuluaga 63 36 63
Third Round: Karatancheva d. Williams 61 16 63
Quarter Finals: Likhovtseva d. Karatancheva 26 64 63
Semi Finals: Pierce d. Likhovtseva 61 61
Final: Pierce vs. Henin-Hardenne.

btw Vamos Mariano Puerta

If Pierce wins, Alina Jidkova would be the Wooden Spoon winner, right?

First Round: Cornet d. Jidkova 76 64
Second Round: Mauresmo d. Cornet 60 62
Third Round: Ivanovic d. Mauresmo 64 36 64
Fourth Round: Ivanovic d. Schiavone 64 67 63
Quarter Finals: Petrova d. Ivanovic 62 62
Semi Finals: Henin-Hardenne d. Petrova 62 63
Final: Henin-Hardenne vs. Pierce

8 matches with Sescioreanu, and 7 with Jidkova. Ivanovic won two matches in a row and with Sescioreanu nobody won two matches in a row.

So i think Delia is the wooden spoon player no matter what?

Actually, we won't know until the final is over with.

If Justine wins, you are correct.

If Mary wins, it is Jelena Jankovic:

Smashnova def. Jankovic
Groenefeld def. Smashnova
Schiavone def. Groenefeld
Ivanovic def. Schiavone
Petrova def. Ivanovic
Henin-Hardenne def. Petrova
Pierce def. Henin-Hardenne

Petrova def. Ivanovic
Henin-Hardenne def. Petrova
Pierce vs. Henin-Hardenne

If you look at this, there are 8 under Sescioreanu's record. And there are 6 under Jankovic's record. So Delia will no matter what have the worst record, even if Henin-Hardenne wins. (1-8) and Jankovic's will be (1-6) if Pierce wins. So Delia will have lost the most amount of matches even if Henin-Hardenne wins. It's a bit hard to explain but basically Sescioreanu has the most losses, and will have more losses than Jankovic and Jidkova, because Sescioreanu was in qualifying.

Me.

No, it's because you start on the right side of the draw, with the finalist. Then you go down to the first round.
If you end up at a qualifier there then you might want to continue, but that's not the case this year.

yes, you did miss fourth round, so the actual wooden spin, if justine wins, would go to meghann shaughnessy.

ok technically it should be Sescioreanu, but it will be Shaughnessy if you don't count qualifiers.
