Two extremely boring semi-finals

Perhaps it's time to cut the slam seeds back to 16. This has got to be the worst quality french open in years, so much t.v. time yet so many more unforced errors!!

"And for the best of the teen-agers who followed her, and who occasionally referred to her as over the hill, Graf had a ready answer: against top-ranked Martina Hingis, Graf wound up 7-2. Graf's stirring 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 throttling of Hingis at the French Open final this June was perhaps the most emphatic parting shot the game has ever seen. "

How would cutting back matter?

Yes this was
there were a lot of poor quality matches this year.
1. Henin d. Kuznetsova - worst match all year
2. Likhovtsova d. Sesil - Poor play all around
3. Sesil d. Venus - enough said
4. Mary d. Davenport - Davenport had not fight
5. Henin d. Nadia - What happen to Petrova

the only good match that i saw in two weeks was Henin d. Sharapova and that's pushing it.

Pierce-Patty was good. As was Henin-Medina Garrigues, Ivanovic-Mauresmo, even Lindsay and Kim. Its not been that bad IMO.

Venus Kvitova
Halep Rybarikova

I think the WTA should switch back too 16 seeds because I will agree with you, the women's matches this tournament were all awful.

This will mean that Lena D can lose to Lena L in the first round instead of the third. What effect will it have on the quality?

Last year's RG was the dullest ever but then we had a great Wimbledon.
At least Mary has given us something to talk about a GS champion who had become a journeywoman reaches the final.
More dramatic of all she may take over the allowed time in between points.
The Drama what next Suzanne Lenglen rises from the grave in the final and teaches JHH a lesson in clay court tennis.

Mary gave an exhibition out there - more winners than some people hit in 4 matches and how nice to se someone who can get more winners than errors by a big margin.
