Likhovtseva says Pierce's tactics are annoying.

Lena said it in her interview. She was not complaining or going on about Pierce but she did say, when asked, that it is a little bit annoying.

Wish Lena could have played better.

Still, great tournament, Lena. Love ya!

actually Elena made no excuses. she just said Mary was on her game and all she said was that yes it was annoying. she only responded to the question honestly. Pam was 100% spot on because Pam has played pro tennis and she felt for Likhovtseva. I like Mary a lot but I have to say that this was a huge achievement for Lena and people need to realize that it's hard enough to play a player like Mary on her game in France without this going on. I know it's how Mary has always played but it does not change that we should understand how it is STILL UNFAIR to LENA and ALL I CAN SAY IS PROPS TO PAM for seeing how it would feel to be in Lena's shoes.

you rock, Lena. still love ya.

And if LENA had actually said something - that I could respect. She's a grown woman, she doesn't need Pam stirring shit for her, and I really doubt she'd thank Pam for it.

well, yes, but you have to realize that Lena was very depressed anyways about her game and probably beating herself up. I doubt that she wanted to say something and get the crowd against her. I think you can understand why players may fear challenging Mary in front of a partisan Parisian crowd.

She was playing the crowd at times, milking them for their worth, but they’ve given her grief at times so why not. But I think she’s kind of bad with her nerves and not doing it on purpose.Mary just send out that aloofness that has created her nickname “Princess Mary the drama queen” in the locker room.

She’s been a personal favourite of mine for many years now. But sometimes even I shout out “For fucks sake Mary just get on with it!”

Right, having Pam do it for them is going to make the crowd happier?

It's not like Mary started playing like this in the middle of a match and took anyone by surprise. Any player who had a serious problem (or anticipated one) could have gone to the tournament officials (quietly and not on camera) and spoken to them about it. Or spoken to them afterwards.

The fact that none of them has speaks volumes for how much of a "problem" this is.

Reason is poor propaganda when opposed by the yammering, unceasing lies of shrewd and evil and self-serving men.

Somebody should try slowing Mary down and making her wait.

I haven't seen Mary play in a while. How bad is it next to Conchita? Conchita does the ball routine, and then scratches her ass, adjusts her ponytail, flicks her headband, and then taps with both feet.
