Schnyder def Venus.

I guess it could happen, but it's unlikely.

it's maybe a bit strange, but I agree...
Justine will reach the final without any problems, and I'm sure Patty ca reach it too..
then I don't know who's going to win the final?
Patty or JHH?
I hope sooooo Patty, but I think Justine

I gotta feeling Sprem will make it to the third round and take ED to three sets, maybe even cause the upset.

not really. venus is a great champion and the head to head is well in her favour but they have never met on clay and patty is the higher seed so she not someone to laugh about when considering her chances.

If anyone other than Venus had to win, I would like Patty to finally win a slam...or Kim C. to break through after all she has been through in the past year.

If Myskina could beat Venus last year, then Patty can beat Venus this year as well. Venus is playing a little better this year while Patty is at her top.
Still hope for Davy in the final though.

You're right I shouldn't have laughed, sorry Patty fans. I still think it'd be a longshot for her to beat Venus at that stage.

Patty is in "the zone," as I like to call it, right now. While Venus smashed a few decent players in Istanbul.

Yeah, but I think Venus is just a terrible matchup for Patty, though they've never played on clay Venus has beaten her in straights 4 times 3 of those very easily and 6-2 in the third one time. Patty's balls are perfect for Venus to hit. Venus is comfortable when she knows her opps. are going to give her time to do what she wants with the ball.
