This isn't a WTA match. But it is actually the first match between top ten players of 2002.

Certainly it's the match we'll look back at tyhe next time either of them plays someone really good. I wonder if Kim realizes that Monica will step it up a level this match. If she doesn't, the first set could be over before Kim gets rolling. Kim is the better athlete, and should prevail, but with a set in hand Monica could go all out, and Monica could take a second set tie-break. Remember what happened to kim's serve at the Sanex Championships in the tie-break. Two double faults. (A belgian thing? Just kidding. )

If that happens here, it's over.

I chose Kim in 3. To be honest I want Kim to beat Seles coz I want Belgium to beat USA. It will be interesting if Belgium, USA & Italy get tied

If Kim serves well and hits clean ground stroke she can tie Seles up in a running much but if she is a little bit off Monica will eat her alive...

I respect Kim Clijters, cause she is a very fast player, but she is not consistent these days. That's why I go for MONICA, and because I like her a lot

I think Monica would win in 2 sets.

Both my head and my heart are split.

Logic tells me that Kim should win (whether it be in 2 or 3 isn't wholly irrelevant. I don't think it's 2 or bust for Monica, or for Kim).

But Logic also tells me that Kim hasn't gotten that close to Monica, and that Monica will always raise her game against a Top 10, nay Top 5 player.

But since Kim has to break her duck sometime, I'll go for a Kim victory.

It's interesting to see that both Seles and Clijsters have lost to... Schiavone!

I think a three setter anyway and Monica will probably take it in the end.

Kim in two, who could doubt that
