Smile Anyone - Please Explain Which Seeds Draw Which

Hey All,

Which seeds draw which seeds in a grandslam, for instance.

If Venus is seeded number 12 or 13 at RG - when is she liable to play someone in the top ten or sixteen? I promise, I will try to retain this info from now on. LOL!

I've always been of the mind that it could be tough on a player to draw a top seed in the first few rounds - but I also believe that for the top players - and if their game comes together, they should be able to at least advance to the quarters. I believe Venus will - and you might have heard it here first.

I've always felt that noone should count out the top players and especially in this day and age. Although, there is bound to be some upsets, I still consider Venus a top player. I would never count her out. IMO - she was too tentative against Maria recently - and should just go for her shots more. She did play a relatively clean and controlled match - and looked superb against Lindsay in that first set - so I can see her advancing to the quarters at least.

What say some of yous?

All,

Thanks you two. My pea brain has never truly tried to grasp what you've relayed, nor have I tried to understand it - I suppose. I promise to now. I appreciate it.

In the Round of 32, any of the 1-8 seeds can only play the 25-32 seeds while the 9-16 seeds can only play the 17-24 seeds.

In the Round of 16, 1-4 seeds can only play the 13-16 seeds while the 5-8 seeds can only play the 9-12 seeds.

In the Quarterfinals, 1-4 seeds can only play the 5-8 seeds.

In the Semifinals, 1-2 seeds can only play the 3-4 seeds.

The "can only play" means that if all seeds held to form.
