Most Annoying Nickname?

Posters on here use nicknames for players...some of them just seem to get on my nerves for some reason! I have used them in posts before, but lately I dunno! Am I only the one that so over nicknames? Maybe I am too stressed at work or something!

I make up my own nicknames for players. I never go by what other people call them.

Aloyna...nicknames should be shorter than the actual name.

It's a fairly common characteristic of Slavic names that a "diminutive" form is actually longer than the "standard" form.

"Alyona" is a diminutive for "Elena," rather than a nickname per se. In any case, it's only longer in Roman orthography; in Cyrillic, they both would have five characters, IIRC. And they're both three syllables.

Masha sounds the most annoying. It makes her sound like she's mashed potatoes or something

I think it's more a bastardization of the Russian/Cyrillic spelling; B = V, and P = R, if you aren't familiar with the differences between the Roman alphabet and the Cyrillic.

Or it could be a "diminutive" form; I don't recall what the diminutives for "Vera" are.

Masha is a lovable form of Maria which most people use!
