I heard already the rain during the night! It's gonna be a wet and cold day here in Warsovia!! No hurry for us today, I'm scheduled last match on center court. After late breakfast, 10am, I felt like going to the gym to handle my energy level, waiting since last Saturday for my first match!
We relaxed some in the hotel room, Rainer surfing the web and checking mails, me studing Spanish, which finally makes sense again, since I can use it with my hitting partner Marc.
At the courts everybody is rearranging practise because of the rain. I was happy with my short warm-up and went straight to lunch. Couple hours wait in the players lounge; Silvia Farina was watching Italian Davis Cup in Rome, so we saw the sun on the screen!!!
With drizzling rain, tracksuit and long-sleeved shirt we started our match at 5pm. Play was once suspended, when I was 5:2 up! Now we worried not only because of the rain but also the darkness.
Back on court a drunken fan started whistling and making funny noises during my ball toss! Result: two doubles faults and my first break!! So I asked the umpire to seat him elsewhere!
Security did a great job. I was very pleased to finish the match with a two-set win, when the next surprise waited for me: Doping test!!!!
OK, drink, drink!!! It's funny how you learn to drink water even though you are not thirsty; one bottle in a few minutes!!! I was happy to get over with the procedure, since filling this plastic cup while someone female is watching you is not too nice!! Done with the first try!!!!
Back in the hotel we watched a DVD, "The Terminal" with Tom Hanks, and relaxed. Good night!!!
