Well, she was 17-0 (including juniors and ITF) since being trained with Carlos Rodriguez, and lost her very first final at Wimbledon in 2001, in a third setter with the Wimbledon reigning queen Venus Williams...

So I guess there's something about Justine and the finals!

I think she just gains so much confidence from winning all of those matches that she feels like she can win the final, and it's all belief

You mean, when Justine was leading by a set to love, and had to retire because of a hand injury?

They are ruthless and the reason I didn't include that specific incident is because Justine was up a set and although anything can happen in a tennis match, I really didn't take that match as a loss. I took it as a retirement. I really didn't think Justine was going to lose that match, because other than that match, Justine has only lost to Kim once (at Filderstadt) in like 7 matches.

also note that all lost finals were tier II or lower.

In the Tier I or gs events, she has won the last 11 finals.
