what happened to these former top-20 players? Are they still coming back or have they given up?
A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening ear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn.
Jelena had a crapload of off court distractions, such as the ongoing drama with her father. Hence, she had a mental collapse. She played a couple of low tier events and some qualies, and her record is 2-3 this year. I think she's playing in Istanbul next.
Rubin has a messed up knee, and had a surgery...she should be back soon.
Chanda has been absent from the last couple of months due to injury in her knee. After her knee was all healed up she broke her ankle and was thrown off even more. Rubin has been entering tournaments since Memphis but has been withdrawing so it means that she is coming back but just isn't quite ready yet (spotted practising at IW, Memphis).
Rubin will recieve a SR of 29 once she comes back, however, she'll have to Qualify at RG if she comes back at RG
Dokic, Rubin and Tulyaganova
parts of Them, I'd rather walk round than over!
imagine Them sunbathing, lying there in a row
what a delicious decision, which way to go?
parts of Them would almost be a mountain ascent
then those hidden valleys,a journey well spent
some patches of forest, and some muscular plains
I have to stop now, this is causing Me pains!
BepaZvonareva Don't read my reps anymore, very relaxing Lydia Ko , Felicity Jones, Emilia Clarke, Rachel Khoo.
I really miss Iroda and also the other two. I feel really sorry for Jelena, she was sudge a good player and was going into a very bright future. I hope she will be back.
All I know about Iroda is that she had alot of injuries. Her last tournament was an ITF in ST. PETERSBURG, March 27 2005.
she reached the quaterfinal but had to retire, not sure of what....Just hope she will be back.
Tulyaganova came back at Tashkent last year. Her results have been pretty bad, and she still seems very injury-prone (as you can see from her post-comeback results, below)... I don't think it's the same injury each time though. She's now ranked 440.

As for Dokic, she's back from her injuries and I don't think there's anything else keeping her out of the game, but her results haven't exactly been great either and I'm not sure what her schedule is. She's ranked 339 and won't be able to get into WTA tournaments without a WC for a while.

When is Chanda due back? She is definitely missed, but I am confident when she returns, she will move back in the rankings and post some good results. What tournaments is she supposed to play in
Chanda is expected to play the German Open, (not sure about Italian Open), Strasbourg, then Roland Garros. She's got about a week and a bit to prepare for ther German Open so hopefully she'll be ready!
