their matches are too hard to predict. dementieva could be on fire and blow patty of the court but i get the sense she is struggling with her serve and patty won their last match in melbourne and destroyed Elena here last year.

basically if Dementieva brings her very top game for the entire match then it will be tough for patty, but if she loses it at any point or plays in a way that allows her to be down 1-4 in the final set to Srebotnik then Patty should win.

Elena Dementieva In 3 sets.

She should have won against Patty in Aus Open.

Elena impressed me very much against Patty in Sydney. Elena's groundstrokes were awesome. Patty seemed to struggle with how flat Dementieva hits.

Elena seems to be playing more solidly now than she did in Australia, so i think she will get revenge for AO.

Patty in 3. Schnyder has also been consistent this season, so she has a chance. I hope she wins in two. Go Patty!

Doesn't matter for me. Davvy's stupid injury thoroughly messed up the top half of the draw for my FS team, but both Schnyder and Lena are on it.

Depends. On what Dementieva comes to play tommorrow. Schynder has been very consistent this whole tournament. She's played her game and has yet to have a mental lapse. If the dementieva who played Vives comes to play tommorrow then she wins in straights. If the Dementieva who played Katarina comes to play tommorrow then she loses in three sets.

Extremely interesting mental match.... Elena has the power to overwhelm Patty, but Patty has the skill to match Elena's power. Whoever wins the first set will win the match. I expect a straight setter. - I hope Patty gets it!!!!

Add to which they both have wicked forehands and are two of the fastest and fittest players out there...

Not sure about 2 sets though - they are on their good days two of the toughest fighters on the tour when fighting for a second set to take it to a third.
