I think it's mostly solidity on her groundstokes, her stable serve (esp. second), and her mental strength.

well. IMHO. She doesn't have weapons. Just very very consistent with a good feel of the court and where to hit the ball. Also she is technically very sound. She has very good topspin.
However there is no big shot in her game.... Look at Golovin having to rally 30-40 shots with players like Cervanova and you can see Golovin has no weapons other then consistency.
Evidently a talented player... but no weapons.

She doesn't have massive groundstrokes off either wing, but they're technically solid as a rock, very consistent, and she's able to cope with power very well. Her real weapons are her mind and her variety. She's a very adept tactician, surprising for such a young player, and is able to adapt her game to fit her opponent, the conditions, and the surface. She's got nice variety, too - lovely drop shots and pretty decent volleys. A good mover around the court, though I think this is more to do with excellent anticipation than foot speed.

She also has some of the best footwork in the game, which really helps her consistency - she sets herself up for each shot beautifully, and hardly ever looks awkward.

I guess the major weakness is a touch of mental frailty, she's shown a propensity for choking in recent times, though maybe this week will be a turning point.

She's more of a Hingis (i.e. smart player, consistent strokes) than a Sharapova or Serena.

Prayed through the nights
felt so alone
suffered from alienation
carried the weight on my own
Had to be strong
so I believed
and now I know I've succeeded
in finding the place I conceived

She was pounding the ball against Venus though.

She's not injured. She does a lot of things very well if not overwhelmingly so. She keeps the ball in the lines. She can do it week in week out. She's smart. She doesn't seem to freeze mentally this year. That should be enough for the top 10 given the very few people in the top 20 who don't have problems doing some or all of these things at present.

Tati has weapons...HUGE FH...and a vastly improved serve (now hitting it over 110mph). Tati just chooses to sit back and wait for errors, but when she wants she can hit her groundies as hard and penetrating as the next big hitter...watch a few Tati matches and you will see what I'm talking about.

VENUS. ANA, TAY TAY. NICOLE. LAURA. KONJUH. MADISON

SERENA. MUGU. VIKA. PETKO. CARO. TIMEA. SVETA. HEATHER. KAIA. TAMIRA. FLAVIA. GEORGI. COCO. LUCIE, SLOANE. PENG. SORANA. ALICIA. JAEDA. CICI. ANETT. DANKA. DONNA. FRANCOISE.

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. SHENAY. DINARA. GISELA. SPREM.

I agree. I saw her play Serena at thE USO last year, and she SPANKED forehands from all over the place, she just couldn't do it consistantly enough. However, against people from #15-down, she should be able to play a tough, consistant game and they shouldn't be able to trouble her. Hopefully she can have a great clay season.

She has a sweet backhand dtl when she rips it flat. As it was mentioned, Golovin doesn't have a HUGE weapon like a Venus backhand, or a Seles return, or a Serena serve, but every shot she has is very consistent. All her shots are above average, she plays good defence, very good fottwork, nice variety 9(doesn't always hit the same balls over and over again). She'll have to add some more power to her shots to improve, and I think she's keen on doing that.

Jelena Dokic.Vera Zvonareva.Tatiana Golovin.Mary Pierce.Monica Seles.Martina Hingis.Anna Kournikova

I've only see Tati play once or twice, but I think her consistency and anticipation were her biggest weapons. You frequently hear of players playing the wrong shot or going for too much - Tati seldom makes these kinds of mistakes and her smart style wins her matches. She definitely is trying to make her forehand a weapon and she goes for it appropriately.

Golovin is def a WICKED WICKED consistant player. You wont hear Pam say, awful time or she pulled up a lil too much, Golovin's speed and AMAZING footwork all her to play and play and play, shes technically VERY solid. When others make 50 plus errors, against the fence backhands etc. golovin doesnt.

shes also very smart!...she knows when her opponet is playing bad and when she has to step up or not...AGAINST VENUS, she knew she was playing badly so she knew her consistancy would kill Venus...she chose to rally out because she can last...

but when she wants , she can rip shots...and her serve is also very good, not BIG , but good placement and solid and deep.

I thinks shes a smart, and good technical player who can PLAY..she never beats herself so thats a big plus
