Second Match for Venus...

where she played well and still lost to a top player. You can't say she didn't play well (3 more winners than UFEs, 4 more aces than DF, 12/15 at net on clay etc.) Any explainations or thoughts?

One sloppy service game in both of the sets she lost! You give that to a Lindsay or a Maria.

She had 9 errors in the first set and played amazing, a lot more errors in the last two sets (especially on Break points). So Venus got a beating from herself, definitely.

Ser ena the best and coolest in the world along with this person: Venus Williams

Hmm....too many sloppy games at crucial stages....can't be sloppy at those times...those are the moments you gotta buckle down.

Always bet on black!

I don't think Venus is tired of losing.

It's better to play badly and win than to play well and lose.

As Denise said, that's deep. I prefer something less profound, such as: it's better to play badly and lose than to play well and lose. This way, you know you can overcome your opponent the next time around.

Anyway, Vee, you're still a champion. Stay positive and, more importantly, stay injury-free.

It's not 2000, Lindsay isn't quite the cow she used to be, the rest of the girls hit it as hard as Venus does now without the bad forehand. End.
