H2H of Maria

I have to admit that I am impressed by the h2h of Maria.

The only real negative ones are :

Myskina : 1-3

Mauresmo : 0-2

Clijsters : 0-3

If you look at the h2h of Clijsters then it is clear that she can’t win against Serena (1-8) and Venus (2-6). The rest, yes, but not those two. Maria seems to be more comfortable against Serena and Venus, but I am not sure that Kim won’t become the nemesis of Maria. It certainly looks like it at this moment.

Two of Kim's wins against Maria were over a year ago, when Masha was 16 - so they don't really count for the future.

Sabine Lisicki, Maria Sharapova, Elena Dementieva,

Victoria Azarenka, Dinara Safina, Maria Kirilenko

Nadia Petrova, Samantha Stosur, Ana Ivanovic.

clitjsters plays a safe game, Shaparova plays high risk. The difference is Shap hits into kimy's hitting zone a lot, whereas, Sarina and Venis move it around a lot and can hurt kim with the serve.

If it hadn't been so windy, Maria may well have won against Clijsters with her super game from the day before. I'm not worried about Maria being dominated by Kim. At all.

Lindsay Davenport

Elena Bovina | Anastasia Myskina | Flavia Pennetta
Fernando Verdasco | Tommy Haas

Q. Give us an update on the kid.
A. Are you serious?

Maria is going to always struggle against Kim unless she improves her net game and takes some balls out of the air. Maria's game is just like Davenport and the reason shes struggling is the same reason Maria will struggle against Kim.... sub-par movement with the idea of going for the killer shot on every shot = Kim winning.

Team Williams
Princess of Power: Serena Williams
21 time grand slam champion, Tours best fighter, Olympic Champion
Queen of Grass: Venus Williams
7 time grand slam champion, Olympic Champion,
The Tour Standard! .... still haha!

i beg to disagree! The wind was truly a factor in that match in miami. Maria's game is more a serena/venus type against which kim struggles. Recall, the moments when the wind died down, maria played better. Offense vs defense, offense usually wins.

Rena- a tennis great! 22 at striking distance.

Maria has a good head-to-head against the top 20. I dont really see a nemesis like lindsay has with kim, momo has with lindsay on the horizon for her just yet. I think she will have more of a record serena has with capriati or venus has with lindsay, she will win some and lose some. The main contenders are obviously the top 10 but so far she is goin toe-to-toe with pretty much everyone she has played. Her 0-3 record against kim is abit misleading cos they havernt played in so long, and i am sure she has the game to take down kim a few times.

The next big thing: Voegele
