Post one more topic: What excatly is REBOUND ACE?

Please Aussie's or whoever knows this. What exactly does the tennis play feel like while playing on Ace Rebound? I think it gives a higer bounce but what exactly is so different than the Hard Courts? Also what are Venus's strenghts on this surface and her weakness for you "BRAINS" of tennis out there? Thank you and please help me with this question regarding Venus. I am trying to make little scenerios in my head on what Venus can and cannot do on this court.LOL

It bounces higher and slower. The courts get a little *sticky* in hot weather, so in a way, it is bad for Venus. It is harder to hit winners on this surface.

If I'm not mistaken, Rebound Ace is made up of recycled tires or something like that?

Dawn: This might not help but, but I've heard some refer to the Rebound Ace as the most democratic surface - that is clay courters get an advantage cause its slower than traditional hard court, but hard court players get an advantage cause it is still a hardcourt.

how fast or slow it plays depends on the temperature, as alreayd said.

The hotter it is, the slower it plays.

Becca thats not entirely true.

The hotter it is the faster the ball travels through the air.

The ball doesn't exactly stick on the court( no matter what temperature), its only the players that get affected with that problem with foot movement.

Rebound Ace is made from old used tyres thus making the surface go sticky in hot and humid weather.

Good luck to my favs

I read that the ball sticks to the surface on hot days too, so it is slower...

Thanks Becca and BE Yeah I do recall the surface being I think kinda fast last year. So really a power player would wish it humid and a clay courter kinda hopes it would rain I guess? Even thought it moves faster when it's hot does it still bounce slower than an American hardcourt? Also Venus and Serena are quick around the court so hopefully the courts will favor them some. Oh and since the courts gets somewhat sticky wouldn't that be a cause for more injuries while playing on that surface? Sheesh I HATE that word it's scarry anymore.

thanks for asking this question Miss Dawn....now I know what's made of a rebound ace court.

Do you know whose idea is this???? I never thought a tire could be used on a tennis court.

Both Venus & Serena should do well on this surface.

Height helps, as the balls bounce higher and I've seen shorter players struggle with that. Good movement is also crucial, and both V & S have that.

A good slice is an advantage too as keeping the ball low makes for a good change of tactic.
