Maggie Answers (how she doesn't get injured anymore)!

MAGGIE ANSWERS

From: Stoil Lazarov - Feb. 16
Q: wiarnoli e 4e si bila na po4iwka na kamping Kawatci
towa liato?
A: Ne e viarno. Biah na pochivka na camping Smokinia.

From: Encho - Sept. 26
Q:Hello !Do you think that the time of the Williams sisters has gone? And your coment for the russian players in the WTA.
A: I think it shows how difficult it is to stay on top for a longer period of time. And yes I think it will be harder for them to dominate the way they used to, but Serena is a great play and can win more Grand Slam titles. The
Russian players are great players.

From: Encho - May 28
Q:Hi,Magdalena!Well, you see that almost every tennis player carries an injury.Of course I don\'t want you to have but you havent had an injury from quite a long time. How do you protect from them?
A:This is the most interesting question and the answer might sound a little weird, but 5 years ago I decided not to get injuries anymore. Injuries were the story of my career. (And they are a part of every tennis player's career.) I have had so many and so different I can become a doctor, the biggest one being my shoulder surgery in 98. After that I had a year and a half off. In that time I red and thought about my injuries and very slowly reached the conclusion that even though they were the thing I dreaded the most (I hated waking up and not knowing weather I will be able to play or not) they are the most justifiable excuse for me not to have to be perfect. They give a tennis player a complete freedom to rest. I use to think my body is so fragile, now if I have some pain I do not worry and believe that even though injuries can occur, your body does have a healing mechanism and usually wants to be healthy. I highly recommend the book "Healing back pain" by Dr. Sarno. This book was my Bible for a while. I have had one injury in 5 years and I hardly go to physiotherapy these days. This use to be my dream. To be able to play tennis without worrying what will hurt me the next day.

From: Sarah Bradley - Jul. 2
Q: The choice: to be numer one in the world but have the fame and reduction of privacy or to have the career you have had?
A: I am happy with who I am and very happy with the career I have. As a quite ambitious person and tennis player I do want to do more and maybe will be able to appreciate my career fully only when I stop playing.

Interesting. Really interesting.

I'm thinking of certain oft-injured top players right now...

she's just so sweet. i'm really really gunna miss the maleeva sisters.

if you have nothing important to say, please do so in non-tennis forum. if you have something you think is important, but is actually rubbish regarding anything other than tennis - please do so in the non-tennis forum. if you have something tennis related to say, but it's actually "OMG, X player is so h0t!1" or "who has the biggest boobs on the wtatour" please do so in menstennisforum, under "wta forum". if you have something important, tennis-related and interesting to say please do so. No one in the world can understand how much tennis means to someone, except another fan.

Yes, me, too. And I think she critisizes them with it, too. I think Maggie is someone who doesn't withdraw for no reason. Many others should appreciate that.
