It's Hingis 2000 Run.

21 Games lost in 6 matches (about 3.5 a match) the last four opponents were classy to say the least.

Serena's 2002 Run.

Jenn kinda screwed it up, but it's very notable for the way she dealt with Hingis and Venus.

Thanks for those, Robbie. Some very great title runs, definitely.

Martina was such a smart player and was so good at playing in difficult conditions. And definitely a HUGE win over Lindsay in the final after losing to her at YEC, AO and IW (where she blew a 6-4, 4-2 lead) in the finals.

Serena's run was just She swatted Martina and Venus aside like they were Nathalie Tauziat or something. Jennifer was always a problem for Serena and that she managed to come out on top in such tight straight-sets win was HUGE for her.

But the way, Steffi manhandled Chris and Martina, two of the very greatest women to play tennis. And it was when she was a teenager and before she won her first major.

If I can remember correctly, that was the first time she beat them both back-to-back like that. The first time any player had since Hana Mandlikova did it at the 1985 US Open...

yes, with 17 or 18 players like Steffi, Monica, Martina H, & Masha K have been/are really fascinating and make impressive wins. They also have bright winning streaks at this age. But it's around 22 to 24 a really historic player has to prove her consistency at the top ...
