Talking Kim Clijsters Def. (2) Maria Sharapova 6-3, 7-5

She should have won it 6-3, 6-4, but I am not complaining.

IMO, she is the best player in the world right now!

I agree. I'm a huge Sharapova fan and a huge Henin-Hardenne fan, but right now, Kim is number 1 in the world entering her favorite time of the year(second favorite maybe next to indoor season). All due credit to Kim, she played a great match. Her retrieval skills are unmatched by anyone but the Williams.

no i am not talking about a racket or a squirrel, i am talking about the former and future number 1..............
martina hingis!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Luck Justine Henin Hardenne, Venus Williams, Maria Sharapova, Mary Pierce, and any of my other favorites that I might have forgotten about at this moment.

What she consistantly did to Dementieva (2x), Davenport, Mauresmo and now Sharapova...straight set victories....AMAZING

She has come out of nowhere and dominated this month. Now let's see what happens when Henin-Hardenne gets healthy

Which might explain why she can't beat them the way she has beaten the other players.

Well, I'm naturally very sad, but guess I can't complain; both players had rain delays, both had the blustery conditions to cope with, and Kim simply was the better of the two. I didn't see the match, so this is purely my guess, but can't help feeling that as Maria was able to push Kim to 6-5 rather than losing 6-4, if she could have taken it to a tiebreak, she'd have won that, and the 3rd set. . I think Maria would have been able to come back from behind. But I have no complaints, Just a bit sad. Still, she was the second best player out of a very strong field here in Miami, so that's a real positive to take out of this

Kim is playing on a surreal level.

Still gets tight during the big moments though.

Anyway, I am thrilled at her comeback. 14 matches in a row. Is there someone who has done better?

But I'm glad if she had to lose, it was to Kim.

I agree.

Kim has played remarkably. The conditions were rough, the second set was sloppy, but she came through.

Keep your head up Maria. Your future is bright.
