Exclamation Will Kim Win the Elusive "March Double"???

This would be quite an accomplishment. To win two of the biggest tournaments outside the slams in your first tournaments back is impressive. Kim seems to be mentally tougher since her absence/split from Hewitt. Go Kim!!!

That would be amazing! Has anyone in the recent past won these 2 tournaments?

I look at people like Andre Agassi and Monica Seles, and of course what they did. I was always amazed at how Monica came back after so long and did so well. I try to keep that as an inspiration. He who doubts loses. (Serena Williams)

not sure but i think Davenport won both in '00 - that would be the only time in recent memory.

on the men's side, Agassi did it in '01 and Rios did it in '98.

Davenport lost to Hingis in the Miami final that year. Steffi Graf was the last I think, maybe in 95 or 96?

Kim's ranking will be #17 if she beats Maria.

It would be incredibly impressive, no doubt : these are two tough, grueling (weather), long hardcourt events back to back.

I'm not going to tempt fate by saying she will win Miami, but suffice to say she has a much better comeback than I think anybody expected. I expect Sharapova to shriek her way to some serious competition in the final.

Obviously it would be a huge accompolishment for Kim to take both of the "mini Slams". But, I bet you she'd trade in all of her Tier 1 titles combined, for a Grand Slam title.

So in the short-term, if she does pull this off, it'll definitely be something for her to be proud of. But, in the long run, I still don't see this helping her at all with her failure to win a Grand Slam. She's proven she can win Tier 1s in the past, so really this is all moot if she doesn't ever win a Slam.
