My thoughts...

Some part of me says....well...I don't really want to say it. But let me just start by saying this, against Venus, Serena played "strangely" bad....although Venus did hit alot of winners....But today, yes there was hunger, which was great, but Venus's forehand was just terrible, I hate to say it but it was. She did not have the game to play Maria today, which makes me doubt she had enough game to really beat Serena based on her level of play.

All I know is that I love Venus more than any other player, and she'll be my #1 forever, but it just kills me to see her continue to lose. I was hoping eventually it click and she'd say...Wow, I don't want to lose anymore, and fix her problems, but it really hasnt happened yet. Hopefully, she really did beat Serena and that she was just not ready to play yet another big match at a big stage again...

I just want you back Venus, but great great job this week....

She did beat Serena. Serena wasn't playing well at this tournmanet and it was evident starting in the third round.

Well yes, but it seemed...I don't know. I know I'm rong, but to play like that against Rena, and then turn around and be the old Venus so quickly in a very important match. Basically I'm just sad...I just finished the match cuz I taped while I was at school, and I really thought Venus could go all the way. Sour grapes...

And OMG just like the US Open SO MANY BREAKPOINTS!

If you look at the match statistics, you will see that Venus didn't play badly at all; she just didn't take opportunities when she had them and she had more than people would like to admit.

I'm really disappointed in yet again, talk about fixing a match. It didn't make sense when the Elena's and commentators of the world were saying it without proof and it doesn't make sense now. For two girls, to be as good as they are, to lose a match just for the sake of it makes no sense. And, if in the past, if the outcome was already dictated, then wouldn't the outcome of the semi-final, the outcome of the final also be decided? Why would Serena lose to Venus and vice versa only to have a loss in the next round? What would have been accomplished? Again, it makes no sense.

Second, Venus lost today, but in that loss there was a lot that a fan can hang onto that lets them and Venus hold their head very high. Venus isn't quite there where she needs to be, but she is playing better. And to doubt that Venus herself basically hasn't decided to get better is yet another thing that makes no sense to me. Why just go on court to lose? She might as well dedicate all her time to charity and her interior designing company if she had to desire or determination to get better.

Venus played well, she just did not play well enough against a hot player today. Venus deserves the credit of getting this far and having a very good showing in this tournament.
