4th Round Predictions

There are some really interesting matches in this round and most of them are, suprisingly, in the top half:

Mauresmo vs. Sprem - Outside the AO, Sprem is not having a good year. Unless she comes up with something special, Mauresmo will take this in 2.
Ivanovic vs. Kuznetsova - Again, Kuznetsova sees herself playing a young player with a promising future. There could be an upset here if she falls in the same trap again. Otherwise, Kuznetsova to go in 3.
Golovin vs. Dementieva - These two have played last week in IW and Dementieva prevailed in 3. This match could go either way. My prediction: Golovin in 3.
Clijsters vs. Myskina - Clijsters has been on fire since her return from injury. Myskina is having an average year thus far. Clijsters to pass in 2 sets.

Serena vs. Likhovtseva - Other than some trouble in closing out sets, Serena has been playing well. Likhovtseva won't pose as a threat to Serena which will take this match in 2 sets.
Venus vs. Castano - Venus passed her last two opponents with the same score. Castano is having a good tournament but Venus is going to end it in 2 sets, maybe even by the same score.
Molik vs. Henin-Hardenne - This is probably the most interesting match-up of this round. This will tell how Justine's level is compared to the top 10. Molik had some trouble in her last match. Again, this match could go either way but Molik could be too strong for Justine now to take it in 3.
Sharapova vs. Asagoe - Sharapova has gone through her first two matches without a lot of trouble. Asagoe was able to challenge Maria in the last set they played. However, Sharapova is at a different level than Asagoe and will pass in 2 sets.

Serena Williams
Venus Williams
Ana Ivanovic
Tatiana Golovin

I can't say I agree with all of your choices, but good analysis!

even more amazing is there are still 10 players capable of winning the title, none that could be condidered 'unforseeble'. amelie, myskina, kim, svetalana, elena, serena, venus, molik, justine and maria, if anyone of them won, we would all say good on you but it won't be major headlines either.

Rena- a tennis great! 22 at striking distance.

Mauresmo vs Sprem - Mauresmo has got too much variety and Sprem has not done too well this year so it is Mauresmo in two sets.

Kuznetsova vs Ivanovic- Kuznetsova has got so much fire power and game. Ivanovic may challenge a bit, but it is Svetlana to win in 2 sets.

Dementieva vs Golovin -The last time they played it was close and I think that Tatiana really could pull of an upset. She may have learn't from last time. It is Tatiana in 3 sets.

Myskina vs Kim -I think that though Kim is playing really well, she will face a challenge from Anastasia and therefore go with Myskina in 3 sets.

Venus vs Castano -An easy one for Venus and should win in 2 sets.

Serena vs Likhovtseva- Serena will pull through in straight sets.

Justine vs Molik- This is a really interesting match-up and will show us just where Justine is right now. I think that Justine has got more variety, speed and mental strength which will help her win the match in 2 sets.

Sharapova vs Asagoe -Sharapova will be challenged a bit, but should win the match in two sets.

Justine's always got the fight in her

Serena's always got it. Never underestimate the heart of a Champion

I think we will see Venus, Serena, Molik, Sharapova, Clijsters, Mauresmo, Kuznetsova, and Dementieva advance to the Qtrs.

Really, don't even look at me...

Mauresmo vs. Sprem - Mauresmo. Although Sprem seems to be getting out of her funk, I don't think she can challenge Mauresmo just yet. Might be a close 2 setter but won't go to 3.

Ivanovic vs. Kuznetsova - Ivanovic is definitely one to watch. She poses a serious threat to any player. Kuznetsova seems to be playing great tennis, dismissing her opponents quite easily. I predict Kuznetsova, but won't be surprised if Ivanovic causes an upset.

Golovin vs. Dementieva - This match will most likely be a three setter. Can't say for sure that Dementieva will win, although I'm leaning towards her.

Clijsters vs. Myskina - Simply put, Kim is on fire. Myskina isn't, but she will fight. Although Kim has an edge here, I have no clue who will win.

Serena vs. Likhovtseva - Serena shoud win this match, although Likhovtseva gives her mucho problems when they play. Serena in 2

Venus vs. Castano - Venus should retire if she loses this one.

Molik vs. Henin-Hardenne - No clue.

Sharapova vs. Asagoe - Sharapova should win this one, but Asagoe might give her some problems.

Mauresmo vs. Sprem - Refuse to pick. Just hope it's good tennis and stuff.

Ivanovic vs. Kuznetsova - Ivanovic isn't ready for Kuzy *yet*. Svetz 64 64

Golovin vs. Dementieva - LenaD in 3 with a jackedup scoreline... 06 61 76

Clijsters vs. Myskina - Kim 75 64

Serena vs. Likhovtseva - Serena 3, like 57 61 62

Venus vs. Castano - Venus 2. But a tight 2nd set. Like 62 64

Molik vs. Henin-Hardenne - Justine 2 tiebreaks.

Sharapova vs. Asagoe - Sharapova 2, like 63 63

Mauresmo vs. Sprem - Momo is over her slump IMO, so should handle K-lina.

Ivanovic vs. Kuznetsova - My heart says Sveta, my mind anything can happen. Sveta is so inconsistent when faces someone who can handle her power and fights... No prediction here.

Golovin vs. Dementieva - The courts are slower than at IW and that should be in favor of Tati. My heart says Lena, but my mind says Tati

Clijsters vs. Myskina - Kim is in awesome form, Nastya will be under pressure, Kim in 2 IMO

Serena vs. Likhovtseva - Lena L. will get called names but prevail at the end. And even though this will hardly happen (Lena winning a match), I refuse to predict S.Williams to win.

Venus vs. Castano - Venus 2 easy sets. Let's go Venus

Molik vs. Henin-Hardenne - Justine hopefully will prevail, although I will not be awfully dissapointed if Miss Best WTA Personality wins.

Sharapova vs. Asagoe - Man'ka will win easily

Vassilissa is my girl............
