Re: ITF challenger prize money

What's harsh is that they've had the same prize money (like 10K etc.) for a long time, which becomes less and less with inflation, and rising transportation costs due to fuel prices.

My number one: Victoria Azarenka

ATP: Novak Djoković

Crazy Frenchies! Gilles Simon Alizé Cornet

Re: ITF challenger prize money

i really don't know how players can survive in these 10Ks
did they increase money in 25ks? the one TBE posted said the winner gets 2900 while the Meelis one says 3900.
anyway these 15Ks are a good idea, hopefully they replace 10Ks.

Distributions were changed couple of years ago. Winners and finalists get paid more now, but first round losers get paid less.

Lot of people hoped so when 15k were introduced, but in reality most of the current 15k tournaments are former 25k events. Now ITF plans to abolish 10k's, which will probably mean less tournaments in the future.

Re: ITF challenger prize money

Sorry but this is actually pretty good money for playing a week of tennis. After taxes I make 1500 every two weeks and live very well. If your winning these event your going to get wc into big events and make more money.

If your not winning matches find a real job. I hate when people think that just because they pick up a racket that they should be a tennis player.

OMG just now noticed TBE's post is from 2005 and not 2015
