Another #1 That Is Consistently In Finals

2002:

Australian....
State Farm...
Nasdaq-100

3 finals, 1 Slam title out of 4 events played.....
Not too shabby.

Besides...she is the only ONE in the world that can say she has won a Grand Slam singles title in 2002.

Ah, now this makes sense. I'm sick of hearing those threads about how good certain players are. No one on this board doubts that on their day Venus and Serena are two of the best in the world. Nonetheless, the rankings have to be consulted. Sure they're good players but do it week in, week out and then brag.

Truth is, on their day, anyone can beat anyone else. Sure some players are better than others, but then why do the rankings suggest differently? Everyone plays under the same conditions.

I will accept that Jennifer is not the best player in the world. But she more than makes up for it by being tough and mentally strong. She doesn't always win matches due to her ability, but her whole 'package', the mental side. Perhaps other players have more ability, a serve would put them abve Jennifer, but then why are they not number 1?

And let's remember, we're discussing a final loss for the world number 1. Not a first round loss, or the semis...but the final.

Posters Note:

This thread was inspired by a thread of the same magnitude, creativity, and with a general tongue in cheek manner as another post on this board.
