Jankovic def. Silvia "I suck and choke" Farina Elia 4-6 7-5 6-1

Up 5-0 in 1st set.

Up 5-3 in 2nd set.

She played gross. Venus is right, she has no weapons, she was just hitting the ball back, even though I only saw the last set.

Well, I'm tired of getting my hopes up and Silvia choking, so I'm no longer her fan. And I'm changing my avatar as soon as I find a nice one to put on.

She's a good fighter, but she has no weapons.

Tough loss in a winnable match today.

PHEW!!!! Thank you, tennis gods!
Jelena needed this win SOOOO much after all the shit she's been through since the beginning of the season. And finally she's not the one who chokes. We've seen too much of that. Well done, girl!

Sorry Silvia, but I'm no longer your fan. And I'm changing my avatar as soon as I find a nice one to put on.

Many of us knew that Venus was right.

I dunno why Farina gave up at the end, it was painful to watch her
she had obviously ran out of any power but still strange...

Congrats Jelena
stayed calm and focused throughout the match

@ DADYO

Silvia does have weapons. She was hitting a lot of winners for a while. She ran out of gas in the end

One choke too many from Silvia She played better than last night for a set and a half but the minute it got tough it was over

Jankovic is a weird player. She doesn't have a great serve or big game yet at times her consisentesy was

I was really surprised by the fight from Jelena. She really hasn't had a lot of confidence lately so this will will be good. Good luck against Sania.

It was a torture to watch really. I don't know how Jelena pulled through this one! She can play much, much better than she did today. Still, a very gutsy performance.

Farina was probably extremely tired. Yesterday's match was mentally draining. This match was almost two hours. She just hasn't been playing as well as she would like.

Perhaps she should try sucking and then spitting it out...spitting is not sexy, but it's sexier than choking!

"Hatred is the coward's revenge for being intimidated" - George Bernard Shaw

"And for the best of the teen-agers who followed her, and who occasionally referred to her as over the hill, Graf had a ready answer: against top-ranked Martina Hingis, Graf wound up 7-2. Graf's stirring 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 throttling of Hingis at the French Open final this June was perhaps the most emphatic parting shot the game has ever seen. "

Nah, Jelena was the better player.

Time for Silvia to retire.
