She was a former top 50 player and mixed doubles grand slam winner with John Mac. She is more of a sportsjournalist now...I think she knows the game well and is really funny

Carillo played on the women's tennis circuit in late 1970s and early '80s and was ranked as high as No. 33 from Jan. through March 1980. She won the French Open mixed doubles title with John McEnroe in 1977 and was doubles runner-up at 1977 U.S. Clay Courts and doubles quarterfinalist at U.S. Open same year. A former member of Women's Tennis Association Board of Directors, Carillo has written two books: Tennis My Way with Martina Navratilova and Rick Elstein's Tennis Kinetics.

Carillo was born March 15, 1957, in Queens, N.Y. and lives in Naples, Fla. with her two children.
