Petrova/Shaughnessy withdraw from doubles??

Just looked at the Australian open website

The women's doubles draw reads...

Maria Fernanda Alves BRA
Vanessa Henke GER vs

Daniela Hantuchova SVK
Martina Navratilova USA

Have Petrova/Shaughnessy the #1 seeds withdrawn?

Does anyone have any further news?

It looks like that... Quite a chance for Martina and Daniela. I didn't give them much chance against Nadia and Meghann.

Molik/Kuznetsova have an easier path through now!

But i wonder whether it was Meghann or Nadia who withdrew?...probably Nadia.

Navratilova and Hantuchova are more than fine to get through to the 3rd round. Asagoe/Srebotnik are the potential 3rd round match-up, but that's also winnable (especially given how Srebotnik has a foot injury).

This is exactly what Daniela needs. Some nice, relatively easy matches to get used to playing with Martina, as well as getting her doubles confidence back. Daniela has been TERRIBLE in doubles the last year or so. Her 2004 doubles record was 8-21 and the last time she won two matches straight at a doubles tournament was the '03 US Open.

Nadia + Meghann

I hated that this was a 1st round match, but the news is very disappointing.

Go Daniela and Martina

Звонарёва ~ Павлюченкова
Петрова ~ Клейбанова
Сафина ~ Кириленко
