2 top 20, 1 top 30 and 2 top 40 wins to start the year and 1 close loss to a top 15 player in form. great start to the year. i still credit my looks of encouragement at white city for her recent success. well done switz. noel must be doing a good job coaching her as well i guess.

I've never seen her play. Does she have the game to be top 10 or so?

Great stuff Sammy!

Now all she needs to do is turn this red-hot form on the local scene into consistency overseas, and she'll be top-30 in no time

Why is it that the world never remembered the name of Johann Gambolputty de von Ausfern-

she has a very big game. great serve, big forehand, strong volleys. her only weaknesses are that she struggles to keep control of her game sometimes and it can be a tad predictable as patty showed last week in the final where she was completely lost in the first set but started to work out as the match went on where she liked to place her serve and hit her groundies.

definitely a lot of potential.

This is a tough little Aussie chick, fun to watch, just saw replay of the Uncle Toby`s final. Great forehand, goes for her shots. Will be looking for more successes from her. Go Sam.

I saw this match live...Kostanic just didn't know what to do against Stosur...Kostanic did actually go up a break to start the 1st set, but that was really just cause stosur was hitting too many unforced errors, but once sam got going there was nothing Jelena could do.

Jelena used the dropshot to good effect a few times in the match (must have watched patty do it against sam in the gold coast final! ). Sam's forehand was awesome today - she hit some amazing winners! Definitely in good form right now. Should be a good match against Tathiana!

To think that she won a total of about 3 games in 2 matches against Kostanic last year....

Great performance
