Molik def. Schiavone 7-6(4) 6-1

Wierd match...

Alicia had 6 love-service games.

She could have easily beaten her 6-1 6-1. She had break points in all of Schiavone's games up to 4-2. She blasted 4 love service games in a row to start off then in the next one she got broken to 30. Then Schiavone blasted 2 love-service games and Alicia struggled on serve until the TB.

Schiavone DF'd on Alicia's set point and it was pretty much all over from there. I thiought Schiavone fought admirably in the first set.

Francesca does this a lot. A great first set against a top player that she loses, than she goes away.

Monica Seles
Lindsay Davenport
Kim Clijsters
Shino Tsurubuchi

This was a great match.

Alicia seems to be playing well these days.

Queen Vee, Super Rena, Krazy Kuzzie

Well done Alicia! Although I would've preferred a 6-1, 6-1 demolition, the 7-6, 6-1 score isn't too bad for your first professional match of the year.

it was a strange match for molik although i only saw the first set and a bit of the 2nd. although alicia had those love service games it didnt look like she was comfortable out there and playing all that weel, she just looked awkward to me like she was playing it safe or something.

good to see her win the first match tho.

Go the aussies! stosur!!!
and good luck russians: dementieva, safina, kirilenko, sharapova, kuznetsova, bovina, zvonareva, dushevina.

also good luck to: azarenka, lucic, sprem, vakulenko, vaidisova, safarova, ivanovic, groenefeld, mirza, krajicek, kvitkova, larcher de brito, lisicki.
