Has there been any player whose first or second career title was a GS?

Or which player had the least titles before winning her first major?
And which player had the "most" titles before her first GS title?

I think I can guess where this thread might be heading , but it just got me thinking.... Does anyone know how many WTA tour titles Monica won before she won Roland Garros? I think she won Berlin (beating Steffi in the final a couple of weeks before); that was the first time I saw Monica play! Any Monica fans who know the answer?! Thanks!

And the most? Maybe Jana Novotna, or Jennifer, or Virginia Wade?!

Did Chris O'Neil ever win anything apart from the Aus Open? I don't think Barbara Jordan can have won more than 1 or 2 titles before her slam either.

Most, don't know, maybe Novotna?

Monica won 5 or 6 titles before her first Roland Garros.

Forever No.1

Amelie sets her eyes on that record but the funny thing is she will have to win one herself either way!

Chris O'Neil's only singles title was the Australian Open in 1979 (check year, but I think that's it.)

Romney/Ryan 2012
