Which is your favourite East European player (apart from Russia!)? Part 2

The Russians have dominated the season 2004, but in their shadow stands many young and talented players from East Europe like Sprem, Jankovic, Hantuchova or Vaidisova. All in all there are 22 players of Eastern Europe (apart from Russia) which stand in the Top 100!

This is reason enough to start a little poll series on which everybody can vote its favourite player from East Europe (Russia not included)!

Yesterday started the Part 1 , today Part 2 and tomorrow Part 3! I take the 30 highest ranked players of East Europe and divide them in three parts after a certain system (I count from 1 to 3 and every first is in Poll 1, every second in Poll 2 and every third in Poll 3).

If you had not yet voted to Poll 1, here is the link to it:
Link to Poll 1:

The 3 best of each poll are going in the final poll which I will post at the end of the week! In this poll there will be the answer of the interesting question: Which is the favourite player of whole East Europe apart from the Russian stars!

And here are the candidats of Poll 2:

Madalena Maleeva (BUL/25)

Eleni Daniilidou (GRE/34)

Klara Koukalova (CZE/46)

Barbora Strycova (CZE/57)

Petra Mandula (HUN/81)

Katarina Srebotnik (SLO/87)

Kveta Peschke (CZE/93)

Ana Ivanovic (SCG/101)

Silvija Talaja (CRO/114)

Julia Vakulenko (UKR/130)

I'm not sure Greece would be considered, an "Eastern European" country. Maybe geographically: but in terms of social/cultural alignment, it's pretty much a "Western European" country. So Daniildou, shouldn't be a part of that group. Just to nitpick, sorry.

Ana Ivanovic is a player I look forward to most. She's going to make HUGE splash on the tour in 2005. Definitely someone to watch out and root for.

Greece is South East and thus it is correct that Eleni Daniilidou is in the poll. My poll is mainly based on Geography although you are right that Greece is more "Western" than other countries.

My favourite player of Poll 2 is Ana Ivanovic!

And another vote for Ana although I don't really consider Serbia-Montenegro nor any of the X-YU republics to be eastern europe.

@Blackbeat: Marta Domachowska will be in Poll 3!

@blablabla: But they are considered to Eastern Europe.
In the Geography you consider every country to Eastern Europe which is on the other side of the (former) EU frontier, on the other side of Germany, Austria and Italy and thus the countries of the former Yougoslavia (Croatia, Bosnia/Hercegovina, Sebria/Montenegro and Slovenia) are count to East Europe.

But I agree that it is sometimes confusing, so Austria and Finland are count to Western Europe for example, although they are pretty far on the East side (Helsinki has nearly the same meridian as Minsk!)

I dont think the Czech Rep is Eastern, it is central Europe. I vote for Koukalova anyway, also Strycova comes close.
