I don't wanna be a bitch, but can't we call it Wimbledon? Roland Garros would be nice, too, but seeing as it's evolved--French Open can slide in there.

-- Chris -- AIM: dieudevin -- Keeper of Henin's awe inspiring backhand, Davenports's three majors (and wins over the Williamses!) and Harkleroad's upsets.

Lindsay Davenport is god.

Proudly cheering on Davenport, Capriati, Shaughnessy, Golovin, Sprem, Dementieva, Clijsters, Henin-Hardenne, Rubin, Washington, Uberoi, Petrova, Zvonareva, Kuznetsova, Fernandez, Schnyder, Rodionova, Morariu, Kirlenko, Sharapova, Mauresmo, and Frazier!

So many shock wins at the French Open... but my vote goes to Svetlana.

Why is it that the world never remembered the name of Johann Gambolputty de von Ausfern-

the name is The Championship, Wimbledon.

Like the tournament played in NYC is named US Open, or United States Open.

I guess the poster wants to be original but just looks stupid.

Of those listed, I picked Jennifer. I don't remember what she was ranked when she did it, but it was a huge shock at the time. Not because she lacked the talent, but because of her timing, her career leading up to that point, how she did it, etc.

2004 Roland Garros Myskina, unexpected and favoured by an open draw and some absent favorites...

You could see Kuznetsova's win coming, she kept on improving since the beginning op the year and has always been a potential slam-winner.
