Yes, some of you may call me obsesive but I call myself dedicated
. Anyway I was wondering how far you guys think Shenay Perry can go in the next couple of years. She seems unstoppable on the challenger tour winning 3 titles in the last two months (out of 4 ITF tournaments played this year, her only loss on the ITF Circuit was to Angela Haynes - a respectable loss), however she seems to be losing quite handily to some of the top 50 players. Is it experience she needs, or does she not have the talent?
Here are some interesting facts about Shenay's 2004:
Reached 3R of the Nasdaq-100 Open (upset world No. 20 Fabiola Zuluaga on the way, l. to Dechy)
Qualified for Australian Open (l. 1r Svetlana Kuznetsova)
Qualified for Roland Garros, won first ever GS match (def. Obziler then l. Srebotnik)
Main Draw of a Grand Slam for her first time in her career at Wimbledon and US Open (l. Suarez - Wimbledon, l. Foretz - US Open)
Won 3 ITF Circuit Titles (ITF 50K Cary, Troy, Pittsburgh, 15 matches)
Reached 3R Birmingham (1st Ever Grass Tournament, upset No. 4 seeded Dokic as well as rising star Strycova)
Barely lost to Top-15 player Molik in Eastbourne Qualifying (2-6 6-3 5-7)
Reached 1st QF WTA Tour Event in her first tournament of the year in Auckland (l. Bartoli, took out Ruano Pasqual as well as Garbin - defeater of Henin-Hardenne)
Hard-court season was horrible coming up with some bad draws losing to good players (Schiavone, Golovin etc.)
So what do you think? Sink or float?
