Maria Forgot to Thank Serena...

from http://www.tennis.com/news/fullstory...categoryid=286

And she later acknowledged slipping up during the post-match awards ceremony. ``I forgot to thank Serena,'' she said. ``I'm sorry I didn't mention her name.''

After 5 matches in 5 days and a strenuous 3 set match, her dad rushing out on court, people shouting and swearing, no security to stop strange men running around interrupting her speech, Maria forgot to mention Serena and now apologizes for it.

What is so fucking terrible? Why are there so many hypocrites about this? Many players don't mention their opponent unless prompted with a question regarding the opponent; it's not exactly earth-shattering news.

I think we should make a separate board for hate and leave this one for tennis.

At least she apologized. She gets points back for that.

Am I the only one who doesn't care if she didn't mention Serena? I don't like Maria either, I just don't care about this

Too true! Yet another tempest in a teacup in WTA world. I forgot my husbands name at our wedding, somehow we survived.

I'm there with you. My post was purely sarcasm.

Jesus, people are unbelievable. She forgets to mention Serena and she is a bitch. She apologizes for forgetting and she is still a bitch. I had no idea that success could make a person so disliked.

Serena's very 1st grand slam 1999 US open she did not mention Hingis name once during her speech, not once.

I don't see how she could've forgotten esp considering the injury was a BIG part of the outcome of the match, but it was nice of her to apologise.

Im sure she is a very nice girl but she sortof needs to try and get some stuff worked on.

Did you just start posting here yesterday?

(as an aside, she was disliked before Wimbledon too)

As another aside, random jerk that's been told is annoying, she was successful before Wimbledon too. As another aside, you most likely were the type that accused Sharapova of being a washout/cheap player because she competed in Tier 3 and Tier 4 events. Look at what that did: she now actually HAS a dropshot. Maybe Serena could use a lesson. I like everyone on the tour, but some fans (namely you) are irritating. And as a note to the moderators, since when did deragatory comments about a players character become acceptable on messageboards ANYWHERE??? Calling a player a whore online, simply because she makes a mistake (at 17, and I bet everyone made at least one at 17. Crazy Canuck's probably was joining the AV club and having no friends.) is unacceptable. If it weren't for some people's valid posts, I would warn everyone to avoid this site like the plague.
