Im jumpin on the Serena bandwagon next year!

I really think that the rest of the tour better look out next year for Serena Williams.

The last time Serena had a year like this (forgettable) she came out at the start of the year and said something like "Im sick of seeing my name in the rankings below players I know I should beat" - and then went on to win the Serena Slam.

The Williams have lost their aura of invincibility - which I see as a good thing cuz I really do find myself cheering for them more these days, especially Serena..

All the big matches next year I'll be bettin money on Serena, I think she will use 2005 to stop the rot and reclaim her rightful place at the top of the pile.

Of even more significance, there's this little gap in Graf's resume the size of the hole in the ozone layer: It's called Monica Seles. Was Graf the best female player of all time? She wasn't even the best in the heart of her career.

They have lost their auras, some players are better than both of them right now, etc.....

But watch-out! specially for Serena.......her getting to the YEC finals, coming 2 games from winning it, after almst no indoor play and the level she displayed round by round at this event. I wouldn´t like to see her name anywhere close of my side of the draw.

Always bet on black!
Can you handle the truth?

I also think that Serena will come back strong next year and be as successful as she was during the Serena Slam. There were glimpses of it during the YEC, but I fear that she'll keep on getting injured. Every time she seems to be playing ok something happens, sort of like Venus but not as bad. I just hope she'll be healthy for 2005 and if that happens the rest will come.

The more she loses, even the more I despise her.

I used to dislike Serena a lot, but I must admit, I've been starting to like her lately.

I think next year will be a definite better year than what we've seen in 2004. The YEC alone made me so proud.

It all depends how much effort Serena is going to put into her tennis as opposed to her acting and designing careers.

If she plays tennis Part-time, I think her progress will continue to come in fits and starts - two steps forward, one step back. She may also be more prone to injury by losing the constant conditioning. To get back to the top she would need to start playing more steadily in more tournaments.

Venus has lost her aura, definately, serena has too. The thing is Venus's confidence level has hit rock bottom. Serena still has the confidence to go for her shots. Its sad to watch Venus play because u know how much better she CAN play.

There's PLENTY of space on Babygirl's bandwagon...even with all of those people who PRETEND they despise Serena there's space for everyone...because Serena is all about the love, all about the beauty.

I really think its just taken me a while to get used to Serena.. I used to dislike it when she would say 'my opponent didnt beat me, I beat myself' and stuff like that.. But nowadays I just accept that as part and parcel of Serena - just like being a headcase is part of Momo, having NO serve is part of Dementieva, always being the bridesmaid, never the bride (lol) is part and parcel of Clijsters etc....

Ive come to the point where I just basically like Serena for who she is - took me a while to come around, I admit, but the girl marches to the beat of her own drum and u have to respect that..

Go Serena - Reclaim your rightful place at the top of the throne in 2005!
