Thumbs up GLIMPSE OF THE SERENA SLAM!!!! (3rd SET)

I'm sorry folks....but Maria had to bow down to those first 4 games in the third set. Serena straight brought the "Street Ball" game that we are use to seeing from her and Venus in tonights 3rd set! MAN!!! those groundstrokes were FIYA!!!! and audience was like and it TOTALLY caught Maria off guard...you could see the intimidation in her that everyone use to have of the Williams sisters in 2002..I've been preaching this ENTIRE YEAR of how Venus as Serena is barely 50% of what we know they can do. Serena made me proud tonight and I was glad to see her bring the "Street ball" game out on Maria tonight....THATS the Serena Slam I'm use to seeing....

Venus and Serena ....Often imitated NEVER duplicated!!!!!!!

Hopefully in 05 she can play that way consistently or at least uninjured and for longer than 4 games in a time. Great try Aneres.

Serena likes to look back on the tapes of her losses (despite what she says) im sure those 4 games will motivate her groundgame for 2005.

If she could have served, she would have won, and she did go back to being a bit more tentative after the 4-0 lead.

she was in desperation mode and she was making shots like crazy. that is NOT how she played when she was dominating. she worked the point more. serena was hardly ever desperate out on court. give her some credit people.
btw, maria will bow down to nothing when she's holding up the bigger trophy, sorry to burst your bubble. who won the next 6 games? who won the 5 previous games?

You are on a serious anti-Monica mode tonight aren't you?

Who cares if Maria bows down or not. This thread is about 4 games of GOOD AGGRESSIVE grounstrokes from Serena, and the guts she had to hit em when she was feeling like crap.

Maria would get swept away if Serena would have kept her pain and serve together in the 3rd. She can have her trophy, but we will celebrate those 4 games anyway.

Yeah, because the pain started to become more intense. I do think even if she couldn't have served better, she would have pulled it out with her groundstrokes.

Won the first 4 games of the 3rd set, yes...

But lost the next 6, the ones that really mattered, the ones that Maria won, the ones that gave Maria the title.

Why is it that the world never remembered the name of Johann Gambolputty de von Ausfern-

Well if it makes you feel that good that Maria almost lost to an injured player, more power to you...
