How long haven't Venus and Cappy played each other?

I know Jennifer has never beaten Venus in her career and can't remember the last time they met but should be more than two years ago.
I think this match-up is cursed.

If you go to Capriatis' profile on wtatour.com and click the head-2-head tab, Venus isn't even listed.

The wierder thing is it's not like they are rarely drawn in the same quarter box but one of them (or many times, both of them) have lost before reaching where they are supposed to face off. They are two of the most consistent players on the tour and when they are not in the same quarter, they seem to reach the QFs respectively.

You make a good point there, they do get drawn together alot, but never seems to make it, unlike Serena-Jen, who once they are drawn in the same quarter its guareented they will meet. Shame bcause they played some great matches, where was that one Capriati had 8 match points i think. Can't remember where

If 5 deserves worship then get ready because venus actually saved 8 championship points in that match

And Venus leads there head to head 4-0, three of those wins came in 2001.

I thought they only played twice in 2001 at US Open and Miami (and i was lucky enough to watch both of those live)

Was the 2001 US Open the stare down between the two?
