Hingis def. Serena 0-6 6-3 3-0 ret. In the 2000 Montreal event. Not as "legit", but a win nonetheless.

That was even worst seesaw match than Dementieva v Bovina match! I watched the match on TV and I think it was 61 16 62

Not in the first set, no. Graf won two finals after being bageled in the second set -- against Capriati in the 1993 Canadian Open final, and against Seles in the 1995 US Open final. The only matches I remember where Graf came back from losing the first set at love were the the 1992 French semis against Sanchez-Vicario (0-6 6-2 6-2) and the R16 match against Sabine Hack at the 1993 German Open (0-6 6-3 6-2).

Best left-right combination by a German (and that includes Max Schmeling): Steffi Graf. All she did in 1987 was knock Navratilova out of #1 and try to knock Evert out of the sport. (Mike Lupica in "The Best and Worst of Tennis in 1987", World Tennis)

"A couple of years ago, we nicknamed Steffi Graf's forehand 'Jaws'. And that music would go perfectly when she starts running in to the net, swarming on that little ball." (JoAnne Russell, during the 1988 Wimbledon final between Graf and Navratilova)

1999 Eastbourne final : Natasha Zvereva d. Nathalie Tauziat 0/6 7/5 6/3

The final Chrispy is thinking about was the Gold Coast but Talaja won 6/0 0/6 6/4 so it's not the same!

Ohh i think I got it mixed up with the match she played with Seles at the US Open, she lost the first set 60 but then came back to win.

No, you were right originally. Steffi won the first 7-6, Monica won the second 6-0 and then Steffi won the third, I think, 6-3.
