Henin-Hardenne pulls out of Filderstadt Porsche Grand Prix
September 30, 2004

BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) -- Olympic champion Justine Henin-Hardenne pulled out of next week's Porsche Grand Prix in Germany because she is still ill from a virus which sidelined her earlier this year.

``She prefers to wait until she's back in shape,'' her web site announced Thursday.

After winning Olympic gold in Athens, she lost in the fourth round at the U.S. Open.

Henin-Hardenne has dropped to third in the WTA rankings after being troubled by an energy-sapping blood virus since April. She made a brief comeback attempt at the French Open, where she was eliminated in the second round, before taking the Olympic title in August. After Filderstadt, Henin-Hardenne is scheduled for the Oct. 18-24 Swisscom Challenge before preparing for the season-ending WTA Championship, which runs from Nov. 10-15.

How serious is this exactly? Is she going to be susceptible to relapse all the time? What if she is basically done?

It was annoced 24hours ago on her official site.

The reason is:
Justine has still some set backs of the virus (CMV) affection she got earlier this year.

Please gett well

Be afraid she's coming back !!!

Unfortunate for Justine.

Does this mean that Serena will now be seeded?

I don't think that girl would ever be herself again. She might be able to go a couple of rounds in a match but after that she's not going to be able to go any further.
