Henin "still ill"; may not play Filderstadt

Henin-Hardenne fitness fear

Olympic champion Justine Henin-Hardenne has revealed she is still troubled by a virus and may miss the Porsche Grand Prix in Germany next week.

After winning gold in Athens, the former world number one felt ill at the US Open and lost in the fourth round.

"Some days it's OK, others are less so. It is still up and down, which is normal with such a virus," she said.

"I'm still not certain whether I will be able to participate in the Filderstadt tournament." The 22-year-old, who has dropped to third in the WTA rankings, first experienced the energy-sapping virus in April. She made a brief comeback attempt at the French Open, where she was eliminated in the second round, before roaring back to take Olympic gold in August.

what a shame, if she does not feel hundred percent then maybe she should rest a bit more and see how things go. We just want her to be hundred percent and playing good tennis.

Justine's always got the fight in her

Serena's always got it. Never underestimate the heart of a Champion

The BBC!

It's just a portion of a very long interview from yesterday.
We're discussing it in J-Time.

She mainly said that if she doesn't play Filderstadt, she might add
in an extra event after Zurich before the YEC.

She's not dead, folks- very much alive. Well enough to
give a pontificating interview.

Now I'm confused...how long does it take exactly to get over mono? I had it last summer and about 10 days after I was diagnosed, I was back on court playing a 2 out of 3 set doubles match. Granted it was doubles and I was fairly winded after, but after about 6 weeks I was back to full strength. Should it really be taking THIS long to recover?

It takes 12 weeks of bed rest to get over mono, which is what I thik she has.

Might I add..the same as jhh and cheating. Everyone is coming back from some sort of injury or the other but when it comes to the sisters everyone critizes them and jump down their throats when they don't win...mind you, even though they also were out for almost a year.

You see this is where the double standards come in all the time.

If Justine with a virus canīt get past Tatiana garbin on clay and then canīt get past Nadia on hardcourts, why should we expect Serena to win match after match when she too is recovering from a knee surgery?!
