Club Tournament Report: Singles 1st Round: 6-2 6-0

Hey all,
today I played my first Round match of the Club tournament. My opponent is a Rookie and has started playing tennis some months ago, but took a lot of practice sessions lately. The match was supposed to be on Friday at 4 PM, but he was not able to play there so we decided to postpone it until Sunday.

The match started good for me with a 2-0 lead, I played some good winners. After that I had two really bad games, didnt run at all and let him come back into the match (2-2). From that point on, i didnt really play well, because I didnt want to play too hard and kill him. So i played with like 60% percent ,but I raised my level whenever I needed to. He came close to win one or two more games, but that was it. I wom relatively easy. In the next rounds I wont have those easy tasks again -- I will either face my Junior team mate who is beatable or the brother of my chemestry teacher ( ).... The second thing is more possible. It would be funny because my teacher said she would watch her brother's matches.

Never mind, sometimes beating a beginner is even harder than a medium lever player, because their soft mallows can never pull out the best in you, you tend to make unforced errors rather than getting out hitted by them.

So next time, Don't drop a single game, 6-0 6-0 rules.

well done, but you should have give him 1 game at the second set

Something was bound to go right sometime today, All these broken pieces fit together to make a perfect picture of us
It got cold and then dark so suddenly and rained, It rained so hard the two of us were the only thing
That we could see for miles and miles
And in the middle of the flood I felt my worth, When you held onto me like I was your little life raft
Please know that you were mine as well
Drops of water hit the ground like God's own tears
And spread out into shapes like Salad bowls and basins and buckets for bailing out the flood

Have you ever lost 0/6, 0/6 in Steffi Graf time?

Thanx for ur nice comments!

I know i should have given him 1 game in set 2, one time he just needed to smash it out, but he missed it and it became quiet cloudy so I wanted to finish it.
and Vincent, you are right, it is hard to play at your best against those guys. Some of his slices had a very strange bounce.

Yes!!!! It's tough playing against someone who merely hits/floats the ball back softly. And the worst part is, it's not even like they are doing it as a strategy, it's just that they haven't been playing long enough. I personally think its 1000 times easier to handle a shot with pace topspin or flat than some soft ball that you can easily misshit.

hunger, desire, fire..........
stength, power, precision.........
talent, court sense, smartness........
no i am not talking about a racket or a squirrel, i am talking about the former and future number 1..............
martina hingis!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Luck Justine Henin Hardenne, Venus Williams, Maria Sharapova, Mary Pierce, and any of my other favorites that I might have forgotten about at this moment.
