Lets plat the "Remember when..." game!

I saw the other thread sorta like this and thought it could be fun...

Well, I'll start!

Remeber when Steveson was knocking on the door of the top 10??

Remember when the Williams were completely dominating tennis, and they seemed invincible?

Remember when Jen had a bad serve and commentators would make fun of her serve? There surely is hope for Dementieva.

Rena- a tennis great! 22 at striking distance.

Remember Dementieva slipped the ranking to ~22 in the beginning of 03, who would think she will make 2 GS final and top 5(even me doesn't think!)?

Remember when tennis was still about tactics and technique, and not all about power and muscles?

...And rememeber when nobody could spell Lina Krasnoroutskaya's name?

well nextsabatini, for all her technique and tactics Sabatini sure didnīt put them to use when it mattered....1 major?! Maybe it AINīT all about tactics and technique, but more about mental strength and the ability to actually hit a serve.

I never talked about her...I was talking about player before her. And don't you dare to criticize her serve .

Remeber when 'Power' had become a dirty word in tennis, well not so any more since maria came on the scene and lindsay went on a wild tear on the american hardcourts.

Remember when Martina Hingis beat Venus Williams, and in the post-match interview, she held some of the beads that had fallen out of Venus' hair during the match and said, "This is all that remains of Venus Williams."

Remember when Anna Kournikova was the best Russian?

Remember 7 years ago when Elena Dementieva, Anna Kournikova, Elena Makarova, and Tatiana Panova were the only Russians in the top 100? Remember when there wasn't any in the top 10?

Remember when Martina Hingis reigned as queen?

I remember a time when Monica was at #3 and Mary Pierce at #4

I remember watching Kim Clijsters take Steffi to 3 sets at Wimbledon and then almost beat Serena at the US Open in 1999.

I remember Mauresmo creaming Henin at her first US Open.

I remember Joanette Kruger
