Well, at least Venus' 2nd serve was pretty good

Only 5 DF's out of 38 2nd serves she hit, and although she took a lot of risk on it.
Lindsay didn't hit any winners off it, so that was definitely not a reason for her loss.
It was rather the 1st serve percentage that let her a bit down. And Lindsay returned very well too.

And Lindsay only had two breaks anyway.
The one at 5-5, Venus was 40-30 up and made three bad forehand errors in a row.
The one at 2-2 in the 2nd set was at love and just a messed up game.
In both cases the 2nd serve is not to blame.

I don't know whether Venus has actually worked on the technique or whether she just went for a lot more on them. Either way, it worked today.

Yea, her 2nd serve was great. The only 2 things that was wrong with here today were her forehand and her lack of confidence to capitalize on BPs.

Yes, her second serve has improved mightly. She just needs to fins the consistency in it now.
