Question Roland Garros Rematch: (2) Amelie vs. (6) Elena

Who do you all think will win this match of the FO Quarterfinal? IMO Amelie will be pissed about what transpired in Paris and will come into this match with a vengence. She will be looking to jump on Elena's serves and be aggressive by coming into the net. Don't be surprised if Amelie wins with a scoreline similar to the double bagel she served to Elena last year indoors.

I don't know who will win, I'm guessing Mauresmo. Go Lena.

Mauresmo won't feel the pressure she felt at Paris. Mauresmo in two.

MARIA SHARAPOVA: "Amélie, you know it doesn't really matter at this point. I mean, I'd love to, I mean, Amélie is No. 1 in the world. She's playing great tennis. You know, I love that challenge of going out there and competing against the best in the world."
You'd love to what, Maria?

Exclamation

Elena is lucky to even be in the QF playing a mentally fragile opponent in the Round of 16. I agree with the person who said that Amelie will not feel the pressure she felt in Paris here in NY and I don't see Elena's week service game holding up against Amelie so I see Amelie winning in straight sets.

Elena will not feel pressure. She is in the position of playing with nothing to lose. Her weak serve is more effective against Amelie, simply because Amelie hits with a lot mof topspin on the FH wing which helps the ball pop up straight into Elena's wheelhouse.

I'd say three sets at least. Whilst Amelie is the favourite, never count out Elena.

Good luck Elena!!

Momo. I think she can make the final (where she will ultimately fall to Davenport )

Why is it that the world never remembered the name of Johann Gambolputty de von Ausfern-

I dont know, it coiuld be either, and it very much depends on the mental state of both players. They have a pretty even head to head, and both know what the other is going to bring to court.

Im happy with Elenas progress in this tournament and a win here would be a very big bonus

Amelie will be all over Elena's serve as will Elena be all over her moon balls. With dementieva you never know, one minute she is losing to virtual unknowns and the next causing stunning upsets. I never predict a score that involves dementieva. You never know who will turn up.

Rena- a tennis great! 22 at striking distance.

I pick Amelie in 3 sets, and that at least 2 of the sets will be close.

no there is a nuance : she 'll choke only when she ll meet a TOP player(henin, the williams or davenport)

Did it occured to you that she can lose to a better player that day?
Besides that's not true, she does not necesseraly choke all the time but people are always stating that precise match where she choked. There are many more tight matches against top players where Mauresmo did not choke.

I'm really fed up with this stupid equation: Momo = choke + moon balls.

May the best player win!
