Congrats Team Japan! (Ai and Shinobu)

Wow. Two Japanese players in the 4th round at the US OPEN.
I'm especially happy for Shinobu. She's a great character, and
deserves it.

I'm sure you meant well and you don't have a clue what you wrote.
Basically your Japanese means My dear Shinobu, you were so lucky.

great win for Asagoe over Suarez, i actually expected Shinobu to win that one on hardcourt. And Sugiyama took good care of Jelena, that could have been a tricky opponent.

Greeny just wondering, do you have any Japanese descent? I know you always take an interest in the Asian players...

I studied Japanese/culture as my foreign language option in
university. It seemed different, and I hoped it would help open
doors in my job/career options after graduating.

All my friends took French. I've I known that I would become
a Philistine- I would've jumped at taking French too!

I just generally find travel, culture and non-American things
fascinating. It's a huge world out there. Learning and seeing
different things is exciting.

Good job Japan! I agree with the sentiment about Asagoe. She's a lot of fun to watch!

Congratulations Shinobu. She sure deserves it, she's a great player and really nice to see. Too bad she had to beat Paola on the way to the 4R .
