Mary, the biggest test for Maria...

...since Wimbledon? Yeah she had some loses non worst than New Haven...but this is a slam...against a former Slam champion and one of the original 'big babes" . I think this will be the best test yet to see where Maria's head and game is...Personally...I hope she stand up to the occasion and show that all the attention has not gotten to her but I think Mary will win...Maria is no one slam wonder that many posters has rushed to brand her...but I think she is still so young and is just not ready given all the fuss around her...I maybe wrong...

Its a little funny that many Williams fan have started respecting Mary since her 6-4 6-4 win over Venus at the Olympics . I hope for a good match and may the best player win

I have always had respect for Mary... I truely like her and her game...She has had some tough breaks in her life and career and sympathized with her when she was suffering through her breakup with Robbie Alomar...So I dont know what the heck you are talking about...

Well Cam'ron, for a Williams fan your post is pretty sensible...

But seriously...I think right now she's suffering a lot from the pressure and all the fuss (read: media) around her...
She's definitely not a one slam wonder but it might take some time before she'll become a realistic favourite in every tournament she enters...

This match could be a very useful lesson for both women.

Mary has the experience to take the newly crowned, "saviour of women's tennis" out of this tournament.

Maria's play so far has been shaky, she is nervous and feeling alot of new pressure to win everything. I hate the ramblings of Traci, but she was right when she said, "At Wimbledon Serena had everything to lose, while Sharapova had nothing to lose".

So now since Maria is the hunted she is experiencing what it feels like to have a target on your back. I still think that she will win in 3 tough sets though.

I hope like hell that Sharapova wins. However,I think Maria will have to step it up about two notches to do it. She played a little better against jankovic but not as well as she should have.
I am thinking Sharapova is going to win this one. We will just have to wait and see.

Sharapova,Kirilenko,Tulyaganova, are the three hottest women in the WTA!!!!

ALLEZ Mary!

MARIA SHARAPOVA: "Amélie, you know it doesn't really matter at this point. I mean, I'd love to, I mean, Amélie is No. 1 in the world. She's playing great tennis. You know, I love that challenge of going out there and competing against the best in the world."
You'd love to what, Maria?

What about Myskina at Acura? Surely she was as big a test as Mary Pierce will be. What about Vera Zvonareva at Montreal? She is having a great hardcourt season - why was she not as big a test as Mary Pierce?

Why is it that the world never remembered the name of Johann Gambolputty de von Ausfern-
