Smile Italian Open

Website has both Venus & Serena playing at the Italian Open this year. I hope it's true. Of course, by then the Sisters' rankings may be different.

Davenport is out.

Taken from website :

Never in its history has the tournament had as many international stars as this year: the two Williams, Capriati, Hingis, the Belgian Henin and Cljisters, Kournikova coming back, but also Seles , Mauresmo, Dokic (who's the outgoing champion) and the Russian girls.

Among these players there will also be the Italians, who are doing so well at an international level. Just to name some, there will be Sanguinetti, who has had such an amazing victory in Milan and then went on winning in Wroclaw and Copenhagen, and Gaudenzi, with his two important clay-court titles. Then there will be our girls, who keep on surprising us: Silvia Farina, with her reliability, who's just an inch away from the strongest players; Francesca Schiavone, with her mental strength; Rita Grande and her beautiful tennis; Adriana Serra Zanetti, who made it to the Australian Open's quarterfinals and Tathiana Garbin, with her solar energy, who will soon be back to the top. Our tournament calls them on, encourages them to do their best, right here, on these courts which are so important for Italian Tennis.

Wow.......9 of the top 10 and would be 10 if Lindsay was healthy. This sounds like the exact same field at Nasdaq.

Gotta love it!

By the way, almost always, Venus and Serena both play Italian Open

Hope Tax and Casoni will be given a wild card. I'm going to Rome to support " AZZURRE" this year
