Molik vs Sugiyama

Who will win this quarterfinal Olympics matchup???

I think the match should be another fairly routine win for Alicia. Her winning streak is currently at 8 (14 including doubles) and it sounds like her form is still getting better (she served 17 aces in 10 service games against Raymond and won 32 out of 33 points on her first serve!). I don't think Alicia's form is going to get any worse and I don't think she will beat herself, someone will have to actually outplay her, something I don't think Ai can do. I predict Alicia def Ai 6-3, 6-4

Go the Aussies

I think it will be quite tough, and Ai will really push Alicia

As much as i want alicia to win easily, i have a feeling it will be a tough 3 setter

Molik d. Sugiyama 3-6 6-3 6-3

I think Ai can win if she gets a high amount of first serves in and returns well. She does pocess a good return of surve so I think she will be able to handle it. It also depends on how Molik serves- since it's so big. I hope Ai can pull this off. On paper she should win this, but it might not be easy. I'll say: Ai 7-6, 6-4 GO AI!!!!!!!!!!

as much as i would love Alicia to win i think that Ai will get too many balls back and annoy alicia into error like she does against soo many opponents. she will never out hit you but she will cause you to melt down. But i Have faith and if Alicia continues to play at this high level i give her every chance.

My thoughts exactly
Alicia can definitely win but it'll be tough for her to get over Ai.
Should be an interesting match......GO ALICIA

I hope Molik medals!!! She is the first real Aussie(Jelena was not a real Aussie) that I have seen be so good since I started watching tennis a few years ago.

I have a question for the Australian fans here. Do Australian fans consider Kim Clijsters to be Australiana?

Molik has a big game, Sugiyama has a game that can easily defend against it. Whoever wins its going to be close, I suspect Ai to win as Alicia hasn't been in these type of high-pressure situations before. However I expect this to be a big confidence booth to either player win or lose.

I like Alicia alot but I don't think the big serve is going to be a big deal for Ai since she just faced a big server in Sprem and handled it well. Once the rallies get going Ai is just to consistent and smart.

Go Ai, Venus, Na, Tamarine!

I'm going to say Ai, though I expect a close match. Alicia's serve will have to be on fire like it has been recently for her to win, because Ai is a good returner. Alicia will be able to dictate with power, and will need to attack the net and use her volleying skills. But I think Ai's last match against Sprem was good preparation for this match. Ai certainly can handle Alicia's power. She will need to move the ball around and exploit Alicia's movement so she can hit to the open court for a winner. She'll also have to mix things up to keep Alicia guessing. I think if Ai's serve holds up in this high-pressure situation, her experience, consistency, and court smarts will win out in the end ... Ai wins 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

(Of course, I'll be extremely happy for the winner regardless of the outcome. Good luck to both ladies! )

No, I dont think we do.
Kim is well known and popular here due to her nice personality and her relationship with our favourte son, Mr Hewitt

Molik might have a great power especially in serve.
Ai could play very smart.

We'll see, but I predict it'll be a close match! but in 2?

Go! Trojans!

Three close sets, with Alicia coming out on top. She always lifts when playing for her country. i think this will be a corker of a match. Go Alicia!
