Almost forgot....

How GOOD the sisters were back in ´02- ´03 just before their injuries. Man, just re-watching the Oz open final. Man, those were SOME rallies these two played.

And I think if they both can reach that level again, then we might watch some williams-williams finals again.

Always bet on black!

Uhum...their best match for sure. I think it was the last good slam final.

That was a very good match that Venus would have won if she hadn't been such a nutcase when facing Serena . When everyone's at her best, Serena is the best player in the world, followed by JHH, followed by Venus (though I suspect that will be Sharapova in a year's time.)

Who blamed Maria fans for starting senseless threads about how good she is again? A classic case of the pot calling the kettle black...

Anyway...To get on topic...I agree the Williams sisters played some great tennis back then...

When everyone is at their best the Williams are still the best...

Im betting on Venus to win the Olympics - I just have this strong belief that the Olympics and the US Open is gonna be where the sisters say enough is enough and reclaim their places as the two best..

I wouldnt call the Aus final a great match - it was very sloppy and erratic mixed with some amazing displays of athleticism...

The thing about the all Williams finals is that because of their amazing athleticism, most of the rallies dont end with winners - Serena or Venus will hit shots that are gonna be winners against 98% of the tour, but against each other they are able to stretch and get a raquet on the ball but often still miss cuz they are at full stretch - so it makes it look like th rally ended with an error, but against anoyne else it would have been a winner..

I enjoy their matches for the athleticism and watching how much court both girls can cover...pretty awesome..

That OZ match did have errors, but half of them came after long rallies. There wasn't too much making errors on the second or third shot.

Uhum....there were some very very long rallies in that match and as czechfan said with some amazing display of movement and athletiscism.

And mboyle...at their best it is Serena and Venus in any order and then the rest.

Always bet on black!
