I know she's not very popular on these boards, but I almost feel sad watching Genie play now. I don't know if it's an attitude thing, or a confidence thing, something else or a combination of lots of things. Part of me hopes she can rediscover some kind of form, if only for her fans, I guess the frustrating/worrying thing for them is that they've seen what she can play like and she doesn't seem to have 'bottomed out' yet.

I'd compare her to Oudin 2.0. She had a good year, with lots of luck reaching 3 SF's. But in the end she's just not good enough. Not technically, not tactically and not mentally. It's amazing she's reached so far as a grandslamfinal with that game. Cause it's simply not good enough.

HAHAHA :haha: Is the WTA kidding us with this? I love this low blow of them though. This must be done intentionally right. :spit:

I don't feel sorry for Eugenia: even if it was for a very short period of time, she's maximized like no one else her limited tennis abilities, and she's certainly still milking the cow as much as she can (not that I blame her for that) making a ridiculous amount of money off court via endorsments and still being given superstar treatment despite her current, long standing scrub level results. If you add the ugly FC handshake-gate, where instead of making amends she was arrogant enough to make the same mistake twice, and how she comes across as very unlikeable and cold, I definitely don't.

I don't understand those who feel sorry for her unless they're some devoted fans from Genie Army :spit: She deserved ridicule for her antics. I gave her a break because it's an old story by now. Yet I feel confounded when those who are more supportive call those who don't pity her ''haters'', how deluded they could be? Or do they genuinely consider her as some sort of role model?

She's spoilt but at least she does not tank matches like some spoilt ATP players (Tomic springs to mind). I think those endorsements and hype messed her up even more. I am not sure whether she really works hard off the court.

The amount of fame and money she gets by being so bad is already enough to not feel sorry for her, but when you combine that with her arrogant attitude and massive delusions about her own status...it's really hard to feel bad for her.

I was traveling today, so I'm late to respond. However, I think the best response is to quote JoLa.

"Where is the gin?"

Genie! Her last win seems like it was 84 years ago! :tape:

It's a good thing that Rebecca Marino is making a return, Canada needs her!

Maybe book at a hard training block now, then go to the 125K Hawaii next month and try to beat Errani and Bellis! :oh:

We interrupt this thread for an important announcement:

JoLa is going to Singapore

Because she dyes / bleaches her hair. Larsson is a natural, very light blonde while Bouchard has darker roots.
