I guess they didn't pair up as well as we thought they would. Those Chinese girls are tough, though! Nice win for the Chinese girls. The Olympics is why China has gotten into tennis.

well, Vee/Chanda certainly had their opportunites early on in the final set with a couple of break points. still, best of luck in the singles Venus & Chanda but at the Chinese girls for taking that toilet break at end of second set, it couldn't have been a more obvious tactic move.

i watched the match. Venus was playing well enough to win. Chanda needed to up her game alot. In the second set, i thought they would take it., but at 3-3, they made a few mistakes that were sitters. I am dissapointed that they lost, but at least they can concentrate on singles now, as there match went on til 10:20pm.

Congrats to china though. Keep positive thoughts in your head venus, i know you can win the singles.

Who played better? Chanda or Venus? How was Venus' forehand? Did Chanda's serve hurt them? What was the case with this match?

Talking

Wow, I'm eagerly anticipating replies on how it was all Chanda's fault!

Spot on. I wouldnt say it was HER fault, as they both made some easy mistakes at the end, but if you watch the match, you will see that she didnt play well. She had an obbesion to keep hitting at the net player even though it only worked 10% of the time. They didnt look comfortable as a team. Not much communication between them. Oh well...

Exclamation

The bad news? They lost and Venus will have to wait four more years to break the record of winning the most gold medals in tennis. The good news? She is in a great position to win the gold now that she can concentrate soley on singles.

Chanda didn't lose the match, she may have got broken serving at 3-4 in the final set but Vee apparently missed a few easy volleys , and they both played an awful final game(errors galore) to give up the match
